June 2011
I heard that one of the nights at the week was going to be a “country” theme. I never attended a country anything, except maybe a bbq. And then I just needed a big napkin strategically placed to keep the food off my clothes. So, I called my consultant (my daughter, Michelle) who is a country […]

The NCCC treated me to a day at the races. The members that had gathered for the week came to race, and race they did. This Autobahn is in Joliet, Ill just outside of Tinley Park, where the Convention Center was. As you can see, the skies were threatening and did get us wet every once in a […]

Just wanted to share more of the pictures I got at the Autobahn during the thrilling day that I was able to enjoy. This includes my friend Jim in #160 and check out the licence plate on the red vette. Â

Any of my friends reading this entry will get a good laugh, because I am as far from reserved as someone can be. Thanks to Joan Thomas, though, I had a great place to sit during the banquet.  The people I’m pictured with shared the table with me and helped make the evening much more special.

Here are some of the people that helped keep everyone happy. Ann seemed to always be on duty behind the desk with Gina. Ann read we a quote from a magazine that said that Tinley Park, Ill is” the best town in America to raise a family”. I do forget the other woman’s name (and I truly […]

Here are some of the people who I was able to hang out with at the NCCC convention. Matt was the “techi” that made sure all the pictures I used during my speech actually came up on time. Denny(blue shirt w/sport jacket) and his wife had a long discussion. Denny was one of the people that put me […]

This is a story within the stories of Corvettes, speaking and traveling. I met Roxanne at the Detroit airport during a delayed lay over due to plane problems. First of all–and probably very disappointing to all the guys reading this—Roxanne is getting married on 9/10/11.  She and her fiance, however, have been together for a while and are […]

This entry has one of my favorite pictures from my week in Tinley Park, Ill. NO–it’s not the beer wagon with 10 endless beer taps!!! It’s me with my new friends Mike(left) and Chuck(upchuck is his nick name) relaxing like we’ve known each other for years. Them, from Tuscon, Arizona and me from Massachusetts on a […]

Here are a combination of a couple pictures. The view of the parking lot from one of the hotel windows. You have Corvettes or trailers with Corvettes in them.  What could be better? Then you have a licence plate on a Vette and another plate I found a few weeks ago. Part of my speech included what I […]
